Times Square Bomb tied to anarchists?
God Bless the Pope!
The Pope Is Out to Get the Yankees
A quick glance of the Yankees' schedule in April reveals a pretty strange stretch: they're on the road for almost three straight weeks from the 8th through the 28th, with a random two-game home stand jammed in the middle against the Red Sox on the 16th and 17th. That makes for an awful lot of traveling and some angry Yankees. But why is the schedule so funny?
Turns out Pope Benedict XVI is coming to Yankee Stadium to say a mass on April 20th, which required that weekend's series with the Orioles to be flipped from New York to Baltimore. Since schedules are apparently incredibly delicate things, MLB didn't flip any other series to accommodate the Yanks. The result is a schedule that requires them to be in Tampa on the 15th, New York in the 16th, and Baltimore on the 18th. That's a bad week.
So the Pope is messing with their schedule, the Red Sox have won two World Series in the past four years, and Hank Steinbrenner is in charge. There's only one conclusion to draw from this whole scenario, really. God hates the Yankees.
Obama loosing Power

CHICAGO (Reuters) - A foreign policy adviser to Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama resigned on Friday after calling campaign rival Hillary Clinton a "monster" during an interview with a British newspaper.
Samantha Power, a foreign policy aide on the Illinois senator's White House campaign, said the comments were inexcusable. They were published on Friday by The Scotsman newspaper.
"With deep regret, I am resigning from my role as an adviser to the Obama campaign effective today," Power said in a statement.
"Last Monday, I made inexcusable remarks that are at marked variance from my oft-stated admiration for Senator Clinton and from the spirit, tenor and purpose of the Obama campaign."
The comment threatened to be an embarrassment for Obama, who has criticized Clinton for what he called her negative campaign tactics and has stressed his commitment to rising above political bickering.
Obama, an Illinois senator, and Clinton, a New York senator, are locked in a drawn-out battle for the Democratic nomination to face Republican John McCain in November's presidential election.
Power's comments were made on Monday before Clinton revived her presidential bid with wins in the big states of Ohio and Texas.
"She is a monster, too -- that is off the record -- she is stooping to anything," Power was quoted by the newspaper as saying of Clinton.
"We f***** up in Ohio," she said. "In Ohio, they are obsessed and Hillary is going to town on it because she knows Ohio's the only place they can win."
Before the news that she was quitting, Power issued an apology and Obama condemned the comment through his campaign.
"Senator Obama decries such characterizations, which have no place in this campaign," Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton said.
Power, a former aide in Obama's U.S. Senate office, is the founding executive director of the Harvard University Carr Center for Human Rights Policy. She won a 2003 Pulitzer Prize for general non-fiction for "A Problem From Hell: America and the Age of Genocide."

A fan of Ahmadinejad outside Columbia University
An old post from Jihadwatch before I had a blog:
Irish Infidel kindly sends along the above picture and this note:
Here is a photo I took today of one of the Islamist counter-protestors outside of Columbia. His sign reads "May Allah make a mushroom cloud over Israel."
At the bottom is a link to what turns out to be the man's personal website for him and his family. His name is Yousef al Khattab, formerly Joseph Cohen. That's right, he is a tale of a Jew (a former settler from Gush Qatif according to his claims!) who has turned to Jihad. Here is an account he wrote of his and his wife and children's conversions (his first son's name is now Abdel Rahman):
But the family's website is much more interesting to look around at, especially their photo albums. The Khattabs are really like any other family, doing average things like dressing their children up in military fatigues and posing with machine guns in front of giant posters of Al-Aqsa and suicide bombers in the West Bank.
But what really shocked me was in his media section in a video "2006 Islam Forbids Killing Innocent Civilians." He gives a sick rationale, actually encouraging the murder of non-Muslim children, that I've never come across before. He states that according to some Islamic teachings all children are actually born Muslims. However before they hit puberty they become corrupted by rabbis, priests, teachers, etc.. and are no longer Muslim. Which means that if they kill them BEFORE they hit puberty, while they are still Muslims, the Jihadists are actually doing them a great favor by guaranteeing them a spot in Paradise. Have you ever come across such a teaching before? This is the most dangerous justification for Islamic Jihad that I have ever heard -- it makes ALL non-Muslim children legitimate targets.
It is common Islamic teaching that everyone is born Muslim and -- in non-Muslim countries -- is corrupted by his parents and society into becoming non-Muslim. But I haven't come across the accompanying rationale before. If anyone has, please send in links or info.
